Where Is The Documentation for the SYN_NOINI Environment Variable?

Can we please be pointed to the documentation for SYN_NOINI?

Short answer, no, because there is none! :) As I am sure is the case with your own, and everyone else's applications, it is sometimes necessary to have features that are "undocumented" or "internal use only", and this one one of ours.

While I have no doubt that everyone can easily figure out what this option does, I strongly discourage anyone from using it. Synergy on Windows is designed to work specifically in the environment established by the synergy.ini and synuser.ini files, and if that environment is not present then you are in an unsupported configuration.

This "unsupported configuration" apparently is set when being launched from within Visual Studio's Debugger.

The assumption is that this is changing the behavior of synergy.ini in some way, the application being debugged assumes that modifications have been made to the synergy.ini to allow the Window Scripting Library to work. It is believed that this is the root cause for the difficulty in debugging this application, but the reasons are unclear.

This behavior is by design. If you are having issues debugging a program then you should log a support call.
